Yes, the universe is just too bloody big to not have plenty of life. I only hope that I may live long enough to see some of it...
 
Seriously, I forgot what the exact number of septillions (yes, I'm pretty sure it's septillions) of stars there are, (I had it written down here somewhere...) But, yeah, I think the chances are extremely high that there is other life in the universe, and it's, most likely, alien to us. The multitudinous light years that separate us pretty much makes it incredibly difficult for either of us to discover each other. Also, the chances of us being even in the same scale of size and/or intelligence seems remotely small. :blink:

Yeah, but you may have stepped on one this morning, or you're going to get stepped on by one next week. There's nothing in the rules that says they are six feet tall with two arms, two legs, etc. ya know? :cool:

Yes, just because of the number of stars and planets. I doubt that I will ever see one that is at or even above our development level. The ones that are at our level will have the same problems we do the ones that are able to perform manned intersteller or even intergalatic flight will be so far beyond us that we will probably be ignored by or treated as interisting species that might develop into something worthwhile if we don't kill ourselves. Worst case would be Hawkings idea that the Earth would look like a good place to take whatever the aliens wanted.
 
Sometimes I believe in parallel universes. Makes sense.....sometimes.
