Me too! I would love a dog, but I recognize that I can't have one because I travel too much, don't have a big enough yard, and work too long of hours to take proper care of it. I seem to be hearing more and more of people getting dogs and then giving them up because they got too big, the couple broke up, etc. It's a 15 year plus committment on par w/ raising a kid!
I was in a situation where I was going back and forth from West Coast to SoWal and had two of four dogs that couldn't cope with being left with a friend while I was gone. The local radio station on the West Coast had a website where people could place free classified ads. I also ran an ad in the local newspaper. I found 50 prospective homes for the dogs (they needed to stay together). I narrowed it down to a few and interviewed them. I finally found the perfect home. I still have contact with the new "parents". They feel blessed to have my "girls" and I feel blessed to have found a home where they are the center of attention (I also have a 2 1/2 year old daughter , so I understand about the time factor.)
There is a local am radio station in DeFuniak Springs that may be willing to help find a home. The have something called The Country Store, which is a swap shop from 9:10-10:00 Mon.-Sat. Their website is http://www.wzep1460.com and their p...uito truck have no love coming from our yard.
Thank you for posting - I need this for one of our dogs (the youngest), who then riles up our other 2, so that they forget how to act. As a whole our 3 dogs get along great but I will say the garbage truck, the ups truck and the Mosquito truck have no love coming from our yard.

Please be nice. You have no idea under what circumstances she got the dogs. Sometimes people have to find alternative homes for their pets. That doesn't make them bad owners.Hopefully you will find someone for these dogs. It's quite obvious you weren't taking care / training / disciplining them if "they aren't friends anymore". Next time think twice before you decide to get pets.

My friend, Phoenix Rising, posted info about our dog training business. I thought I would join to answer questions etc. Unfortunately, we can't take the dogs that need homes, but I will be glad to post their pictures on our website if that might help. We have 3 rescues that we have taken into our family. We have help place a few in the past. We are glad to do what we can to help keep them out of shelters.

, but he actually is very funny. He works with problem pets during his off hours from our office. He has been doing it for years. He goes to people's homes. It's not only situations with one pet not getting along with another it is also a pet that doesn't get along with a certain person in the home. He was talking to a client yesterday and mentioned something about the first hour being $130 I think, then $70 for the second hour, etc!
