To: Walton County Beach Front Property Owner

Dear Property Owner:
Walton County, Florida, with the assistance of the Walton County Tourist Development Council, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Army Corps of Engineers, is undertaking a Hurricane and Storm Damage Reduction Project. The project will restore approximately 3.0 million cubic yards of sand on five beach segments or “reaches” along 18.8 miles of beaches in Walton County.

The Walton County Tourist Development Council has prepared a webpage located at www.visitsouthwalton.org/beach-nourishment orwww.protectwaltoncountybeaches.com which contains a history of the project, a frequently asked questions section, and links to various documents regarding the project.

Several documents are enclosed. The first is a Beach Storm Damage Reduction Easement. The purpose of the easement is to grant to Walton County, Florida and the United States of America represented by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, the power to engage in the activities described in the easement. As with any legal document YOU SHOULD CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY OF YOUR CHOICE BEFORE YOU SIGN THE DOCUMENT to insure that you understand it completely.

The second document is a title commitment which shows who owns the property described in Exhibit “A” to the Easement. Please check that document to insure that you are the person or persons who actually own the property described in the Exhibit “A” to the Easement.

The third document is an aerial photograph depicting the project and its construction on your part of the beach property.

If you wish to sign the easement, please sign the easement in the presence of three people, two witnesses and a notary public. Please ask the witnesses to print their name and addresses below their signatures. If you are signing the easement in a representative capacity, i.e., as the President of a Corporation, please note your title status underneath yoursignature. Also, please print your full name and address below your signature. Once completely executed, please return the original executed easement in the enclosed, self-addressed and stamped envelope. We hope to have your easement returned to us on or before ______________, 2015.

Again, many questions regarding the project can be answered by referring to www.visitsouthwalton.org/beach-nourishment or www.protectwaltoncountybeaches.com

Thanks for posting Bob.

So the people who are afraid to sign are afraid the government is taking their land? Are these the same people who put keep off signs ont he beach?

And if they don't sign then they skip that lot and extend the beach on either side?
