Eastern lake is ready to burst

With the high tide later this afternoon and the swell, Eastern lake will open up in a few hours. Just got back from the beach and the water is all ready flowing in on some large surf. If you are willing to brave the storm, bring the net and catch some dinner!!

It never did open after RoadRoo's post.

But with yesterday's day-long deluge and last night's heavy seas, it's open this morning. Not your usual mad rush, just a broad steady flow. But then it didn't really have to "break through" a built-up dune as it often does. This time it just had to crest a gentle mound that was barely blocking it.

Ever since I saw your question on Stallworth Lake, I have been trying to find a map or something that labels the location of each of the coastal dune lakes. Some are obvious enough such as Eastern and Powell. Others are not and I don't want to note anything about any particular lake if I am not positive which one I was looking at. Any help?

Stallworth is the last lake you pass if you are headed West. On the far western end of 30A as it turns North toward 98 and just before you get to Butler. As for most of the others, I just know the major ones, couldn't tell you some of the smaller ones.

Eastern Lake - Across from OFFH
Western Lake - West of WaterColor and East of Grayton
Alligator Lake - West of Grayton and East of Gulf Trace
Oyster Lake - Behind Dune Allen Realty office
Stallworth Lake - See above

Drove by Deer Lake during the thunderstorm this afternoon. The lake is up to the bike path on the south side.

Thanks for the map Elgordoboy.
I was thinking of the right Stallworth Lake.
I will print out this map.
