Emergency - Black Standard Poodle Found On 30-A

Beach Runner

beats on hood
A black standard poodle has been found, lost on 30-A near Eastern Lake Road, and nearly run over several times. This is near and dear to my heart because we have a black standard. If you are missing such a dog, please let me know. A really nice lady named Martha was going up and down the streets in this area trying to find the owner.

I called the sheriff's department. The dog's owner has been located.:clap_1: I could cry. If this had happened to Pepper, I'd be inconsolable! I'd probably be at the hospital with chest pains.

Thankfully, there was a happy ending.:D

I'll agree with you that it's terrifying when your pet gets loose!! When we were in Seagrove over Christmas, Merman and I found a little schnauzer just like the kind Gotothebeachmom has. Luckily the little guy had tags on and we were able to call the owner right away. The dog had wandered about three blocks from his home--and across 30-A at that. (His guardian doggie angel was on his shoulder that day, no doubt about it.) The owner was all the way over in Destin so we babysat for about an hour. I called gttbm and asked if she could bring her dogs over to keep "mine" company. Futurebeachbum brought them over and it all worked out okay. :clap_1:

Oh my goodness BR...these stories always make my heart stop as well. I am so glad the pup fund it's way home.

I'm so glad this had a happy ending. These posts scare me.

The problem is that even if you have a microchip in your dog as Pepper does, most people I know don't have a microchip reader (duh, BR). Last night's experience has convinced me to get a tag for Pepper with our contact information on it so that if (God forbid) she gets out of the fenced area or slips out the front door, someone who finds her can contact us immediately -- before I have a heart attack.

VERY helpful information to know and think about! :clap_1:
