Beach Comber
HI! I am an event planner planning on moving to the area in September. What company/organization puts on all the events that are held at the different town greens (The Seaside lawn, Rosemarys greenway, etc...) Are this county sponsored/organized events or are their companies run by each neigborhood? I would love to meet with these companies and hopefully find a job. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Each town runs their own events mostly, sometimes hiring contractors for larger events. I am going to move this to employment.

You might tell us a little bit more about your experience.

These are great leads! I will be sending my resume to both companies! My experience is quite unique. I spent 8 years working in private clubs (almost every department, childrens activities/events, cafe & grill, member services etc...) received my degree from the university of New Orleans in Hotel restaurant and tourism administration with a concentration in Convention and Event Planning. I've been working in New Orleans for the last 5 years at private venue facility as an event sales manager selling primarily corporate meetings and picnics, and social events. I've also expanded my role to include marketing and research.
I've also volunteered on almost every level for many local events, one in particular that I was a committee member on raised over $500,000 in profits that were donated across the city. I have been a reguular volunteer for many of the successful festivals in the NOLA area such as the Wine and Food Festival, PoBoy Festival among others.
Please let me know if there are any other companies that anyone thinks I should send my resume to as well!
Thank you and I hope to have you all as neighbors in the very near futute!

Hillary Fosdick and Brianne Workmann (sp?) do many of the local events as well as weddings, etc.

Their company is monark events. Google them.

Thank you to everyone that replied, resumes have been sent and I will hopefully be hearing from someone soon:) I will be heading out there this Friday, it would be a great 4th of July to get the job squared away while I'm there!
Thanks again and everyone have a safe and (hopefully) oil free fourth!
