FCAT - South Walton Writes!

[ShallowsNole]

FCAT writing scores are out - typically this isn't news unless you are a school administrator, a teacher, a sophomore, or the parent of a sophomore.

ShallowsSquirt came home last week with the announcement that the South Walton 10th grade scored the highest in the county on FCAT writing. Awesome!

And then today I'm trying to catch up on the newspapers...not only did our 10th graders score the highest in Walton County, the Daily News reports they scored higher than all the high schools in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa!

I have no idea how my individual sophomore did, but I'm proud of our kids - yet again.

From the Seahawk News Network-

Our sophomores gave us a reason to celebrate. 90% of our 10th graders scored a 3.5 or above on FCAT Writing. Their scores were not only the best in Walton County, they outscored every high school in Okaloosa, Bay and Santa Rosa Counties as well. Congratulations to our sophomores and their teacher, Kelly Trafton, for doing such an outstanding job on FCAT Writing!

Cool.

Seaside School did great too!

Yeah for the high school, it's great to see awesome scores. Seaside School also had an incredible score - 100% of their students scored 3.5 or higher. In fact, almost 100% scored 4.0 or higher. Many thanks to Denise Findley for preparing the kids!
