Fearful for the STOP sign

Coming down 395 - at the intersection of 30-A - they have either moved the stop sign or made a right turning lane - making the poor STOP sign right out there in the middle of the two lanes. So.........
how long till he is bending sideways or totally removed from the spot?

Now, I'm not saying that it might not be ME that knocks it down OR Mr seagrover, as that is entirely possible............but I'm giving it at least till after spring break - that is my bet!!

The right turn lane is the bike path, and no, it isn't really clear enough for there not to be problems. There probably needs to be a built-up curbed island rather than a few white lines. I watched six supervisors watch two prisoners paint the white lines. You can't beat the Walton County Road Department for pure comedy.

How did you manage to see a 6 to 2 ratio? That crowd set a new standard for doing nothing. I give those in stripes points for being more alert and seeming to have some purpose - my overall impression was "WTF are you all doing here?"

I don't know what they did today (besides put up signs and gawk - you'd have thought I was driving topless with a neon sign on my car) - the path was done friday and they had giant utility trucks cracking the path more by Pickets then too, landscaping is obviously not a county job, no upgrades to signage or the light, and I can't see any changes. :idontno:

Must say that while I do like the landscaping and overall look of the place, the construction, ugliness, and traffic disruptions have been a royal cluster. It's been a major eyesore and messed up the bike path, plus the last week I've been waiting to get in an accident due to more idiots gawking as they drive past.

P.S. How come in some neighborhoods they put up "men at work" signs instead of "prisoners at work" signs? I love that they have prisoners working and costing us less money, but the different signs (usually in the high rent areas) are weird.

I've always thought it was a hoot that they feel a need to put a sign out at all to let folks know men are working. It must be so rare that they want to celebrate it when it happens? I'm not saying it's so, juss trying to understand the logic there.

Is the stop sign like this one that is in certain high-pedestrian areas of Atlanta, such as Midtown and Virginia-Highlands?

No, it's a "real" stop sign - but now is surrounded by asphalt instead of "off" the road in dirt.

The only thing to keep a car from drifting and hitting it is some paint - no grade change/road edge.

Which also means replacing it may now more complicated than just sticking it back in the ground.
