Given the strong position you are taking on gov't spending and the economy is it fair to assume you are in favor of allowing the Bush Tax Cuts to expire?

Note: This liberal Obama supporter would like to see them expire for all Americans.

This conservative is more than willing to let the Bush tax cuts expire providing you can assure me the money saved will be used to limit government, return states rights, cut spending and otherwise used wisely. Unfortunately, you nor anyone else can assure such a result when Congress continues to fritter away our tax dollars on useless projects such as Senate Bill 510.

Letting the Bush tax cuts expire does not mean that is actual money we now can choose to spend on something else - that is DEFICIT spending and not digging a deeper hole is a huge part of solving the out of control budget.

The federal government borrows 37 cents for every dollar it spends - which IMO means we can't keep those tax cuts in place.

I applaud the President for a step in the right direction. As to the Bush cuts, I support expiration for those with incomes in excess of 1 million combined with spending cuts back to 2008 levels. Then lets see where the economy and the budget are after a year and proceed further. We can use the year to look at Social Security and Medicare reform and the repeal of Obamacare.
