Feeling Low

I am certain I am not alone when I say that this whole oil rig disaster has made me feel pretty low. :( I know that those of you who have lived here a long time must feel like you are about to lose an old friend to a dreaded disease and wondering when it will hit.

I've been coming to the Panhandle for 30 yrs now, but now this is my home too and I am deeply saddened.

I am also very very sad for my home state of Louisiana. :( The poor fishermen and oyster farmers, etc... their families, their boats, their birds, their homes.

And it goes without saying, but I'll say it again, the sad loss of life and the injuries to those who survived but were caught in the blast.

I just wanted a place to come.

Without anger.

Without politics.

Just a sanctuary and a place to share.

That's all.

me too.

I just took my girls for a walk on the beach...it's so beautiful out there right now. I may go back when the moon gets up.

i know we'll see some difference in the weeks to come. :(

We need to just take a break from thinking/worrying/watching coverage.

Gidget, Dr. Scooty prescribes some Sowal socializing at the Market and Sally's to make you feel better and distract you.

No matter what happens, we will somehow find a way to make it all okay.

Takes more than some oil on the sand to ruin our Sowal.

DH and I plan on riding our bikes over in the early AM if it isn't raining. We gonna wear our shirts!

I agree, I need to stop reading about it. It is all over facebook - all the new pages, etc... and then Rush's face on another thread was too much! HOW can anyone think.....never mind. Won't go there.

Thanks SB

I've lived here for decades. My gut feeling is to drive away on Tuesday because I will not be able to bear seeing it. A friend of mine reminded me to be sure to go for a swim in the Gulf this weekend, because it may be the last chance for a while...

Awwww you must really be so sad. I am so sorry for you!! It is a nightmare isn't it?

I wonder if this has changed any minds about drilling though? I'd like to set up a poll on a thread but not sure how.

Take care LVT!!

I was just thinking of you, Gidget and then I came across this thread. I know it is heartbreaking. It seems quite surreal to me still. I'm so sorry.
