Fire @ 283 & 98

New posts
From the beach it looked like it was more toward and north of Deer Lake. Hope to hear soon. It looked quite large.

The one at Bay Drive has been put out. It burned the triangle area from where Bay Dr. used to be to the current location north of 98. Fortunately they got to scene fast and were able to contain it before it jumped Bay Drive and got in the woods. But it looked like there was another burning down toward Seagrove. Not sure of the cause, all th personell on the scene looked rather busy and I didnt want to stop & ask.

Pretty sure it was accidental as there were no forestry folks on the scene. Just one deputy making sure folks coming south on Bay drive slowed enough to get through the HEAVY smoke just before the light. But when I came back from my fast trip into the Grayton store there were alot of fire truck on scene and spraying it all down.

Gee, I wonder what could have started a fire in the middle of a clear day.

Couldn't be one of the @#$@% lit cigarettes I see thrown out of vehicles every day, could it? :bang:

From Camp Creek, we thought it may have been a contolled burn, but, why on a windy day? It was northwest of the golf course.:D

It's always the smokers isn't it? Couldn't be arson, kids playing with matches, or actual natural causes?

I figured the clear day ruled out Ma Nature and the timing meant the kids were in school, not free to be playing w/ matches.

Would hope an arsonist would operate at night, but since they're an arsonist, I guess logic/smarts is already a moot point.
