Fire at Condos on Somerset Beach Road

New posts
At 2:30 this morning we awoke to flames hitting our 2nd story condo. I looked out and seen that our neighbors Jeep that was parked below was in flames. My wife called 911 and I went outside to pull the building alarm and attempt to put it out with the fire extinguishers on the building. It was way to far gone by than. A deputy arrived and helped evacuate the building as the flames were inches from it. The fire dept arrived in what seemed like hours but really only a few minutes. They quickly put out the fire. I want to say a Hearty THANK YOU :clap:to the Fire Department and the Sheriffs dept. Job well done! Now we have to deal with the smoke filled condo, but I am sure we would rather have that than what we could have had. Thanks to my wife as well for starting the wakeup chain to get everyone out!

Sorry at 3am and all the crazyness, Thats Somerset Bridge Rd.. Man what a night!

that's terrible! hopefully in the morning you'll figure out what caused the fire, and hopefully it's something reasonable and not sinister. glad you, your wife, and apparently everyone else ended up safe!!!!

Eddie: Glad you're all safe. And thanks for telling the story here to remind us that these things can happen and that we need to remember to be prepared. once again to the fire dept.

Thanks for posting, Eddie. I'm glad you are all okay. I live in the neighborhood and I heard the alarm, although I couldn't quite figure out where it was coming from. It's a loud alarm!
Let us know if you find out what started the Jeep on fire. It's pretty strange that it would just spontaneously combust. :idontno:

Somerset is behind the Tom Thumb. I'm thinking Eddie means the Seagrove Highlands condos - maybe he will come back and tell us for sure.

Just talked to the owner of the Jeep. They have no idea how it started. The fire marshal is going out today to take a look.:idontno: :(
