FireFighters at School

Did anyone happen to catch the firefighters at all of the sowal schools this morning? They were waving big yellow signs that read " Firefighters love kids", please drive safe". I asked them why they were there and they said they just wanted to remind drivers that school was back in session and were hoping that no one gets injured. As a parent, I can appreciate that very much. Thanks South Walton Firefighters! I was told they would be there for the first 3 days of school. If you see them, give them a wave and say thanks... I did.:clap:

Thank you, Kashmir, for taking the time to speak to our folks.

One of our firefighters brought this idea up at our last meeting. When called to a vote we were unanimously in favor. (a no-brainer) Finding members who were willing to be at the schools each of the mornings of the first three days was easy. More members volunteered than we needed.

Some other Community Service Ideas are on our agenda for the coming fiscal year as well as charity fund raising events. We will try to keep you updated through the SoWal.com message board as often as possible.

For more information, you can contact South Walton Professional Firefighter's Public Information Officer, Sammy Sanchez at 850-527-6146.

And remember, our children are our most precious resource both now and for the future. While driving, please slow down and use extreme caution in and around our school zones.

Sincerely,

Mark Youngblood, President
South Walton Professional Firefighters Assoc.
