Florida wins $700 million in federal grant money - St. Petersburg Times

Good news for Florida's students and teachers!

Florida, eight other states and the nation's capital will get money to reform schools in the second round of the $4.35 billion Race to the Top grant competition.

Money well spent if the reforms actually materialize.

I wonder what the state and local educators will think about the "strings" that are attached with the money due to the reforms that 30AShopper mentioned. It's not free money for sure!
