No dispute there were jobs added as you posted (I'll take your numbers as fact). But the 4.6% doesn't include those who quit looking.

From the report. Like I said thanks Obama!! And Trump should thank him too for inheriting such a such a strong economy. Do you remember ,Lars, when Obama took office the country was hemorrhaging 800,000 jobs a month.

'The participation rate, which shows the share of working-age people in the labor force, decreased to 62.7 percent last month from 62.8 percent. It has been hovering near the lowest level since 1978, with the longer-term slide mainly due to retiring baby boomers. Better employment prospects may draw more people into the workforce or limit unemployed Americans from giving up and dropping out.

Friday’s data showed that 4.52 million Americans who entered the labor force got jobs in November, up 575,000 from October -- the biggest monthly increase in records going back to 1990. The reverse measure, people going from employed to being out of the workforce, rose by 296,000 to 4.68 million, in part reflecting retirees.'

Unemployment is measured same as usual.

the entire economy has been propped up by the Fed since '08...The Fed has reinflated the stock market, and to a lesser extent the housing market. The labor force participation rate is horrible. 584179b9e02ba75c658b61f6-1200.png The participation rate is mainly due to discouraged workers dropping out. I'm looking for an uptick in the participation rate now that we have a pro business President. If the velocity of money increases by allowing the large banks to lend and change their business model from stealing through fees, every metric will turn in the right direction. Obama never showed much leadership in this area.Hillary ignored the issue, and the Rust Belt kicked her in the ass. Dodd-Frank can go in the can with Obamacare, and the result will be an upturn.
