ESE Teachers

Hey! How about ESE teachers (Teachers of Children with Special Needs)? How will they be judged/graded/evaluated? We have the greatest and most rewarding job on the planet!

Rock on.....

SO, now a good teacher's career is dependent on how the underacheiving, below-average student scores on a test and the "opinion" of a principal who may have an axe to grind with said teacher's philosophy??? How will Title I teachers, library media specialist, counselors, assistant principals, and principals be evaluated?
this cannot be implemented fairly. the whole law is an assault by neocons/teabaggers on teachers by association via the union.

psst..they don't a ****. they just want to take take take

In Alabama, where I taught for 27 years, the SDE piloted an evaluation system for one year. It included 1 scheduled observation and one unscheduled observation by the principal. It was a joke! The principal would walk into the classroom with a stop watch and calculate different teaching methods within a certain time frame. The system failed for many factors: not effective evaluation tool, principals didn't have the time to get all evaluations done for entire faculty, and the evaluation in no way measured the success of the student. It was a farce!

Then why did every school district and the teacher's union approve of the plan? Something is amiss here. If anybody has more data on the bill or the test pilot program I'd love to see it.
