Heard a former counsel member. Went into city hall with a former book keeper . They used a current workers pass word. To access computer.Think the new audit ordered from the new city counsel has anything to do with it. Would love to see the browser history.still waiting to hear outcome.

So here's the story. 4 city council members and ole Russ the mayor were out of town at a meeting. Who didn't attend??? Kasey Cuchens because OMG she's finally not able to be the puppet master after all these years and quite frankly, she's toast if she runs again for city council. Rumor has it she is planning a run for county commissioner, probably financed by a certain Freeport developer who saw all his dreams go by the wayside when NONE of the people he threw a big BBQ party for got elected. Shows how influential Mr Odom is in Freeport huh? NOT....
So while these hard working council members are out of town, Janice McLean who can't seem to get over the fact that she lost by like a million votes in Freeport land, came waltzing into city hall and just so happened to talk to the supervisor of the water department who promptly handed her a piece of paper with a door code to the back offices so she could freely do whatever she wanted back there because no one was around. And a few minutes later the same thing with the FORMER bookkeeper.
Now the story gets even better because the jolly old mayor wasn't even going to reprimand said employee until city council demanded and voted for her to be reprimanded.
And yes, there will be an audit....which is a good thing since the former council member is also the same person who took it upon herself to write checks to her husband's company and cash the checks from city of Freeport accounts.

Wow. Employee should be fired, that sounds very illegal.
Sounds like Freeport is in for astorm.
You would think so but not in Freeport land. Why would the happy ole mayor even consider firing an employee who gives out access codes so secure areas and fire her? That's just not the mayors style of running a city. It's more of "can't we all just get along"....peace, love and harmony in Freeport.
The city council publicly fired the parks director because the mayor won't fire anyone. Who's next? Hmmmm....
He did "talk" to said supervisor of the water department. Only for her to be caught on camera a few days later talking to the ex city council member outside of city hall.
And don't even get me started on the background checks that the city clerk never did on some of these fine city employees. But that's another book....
