Beach Fanatic
Overheard today on the San Francisco waterfront, from a young man lunching al fresco with several pals, "I don't know what's going on with my lawyer, he seems really messed up..."

Gorgeous sunny day in the City by the Bay. Took the day off and the ferry in. Snappy breeze and that double catamaran was fairly flying over the whitecaps. Tooted a "hello" as we passed Angel Island and Alcatraz. Walked over to Union Square, running errands along the way. Jumped the cable car back to the Ferry Building, hanging off the side all the way so as to enjoy the breeze and the views. Grabbed a takeout dinner from the window at the very excellent Vietnamese restaurant, The Slanted Door...shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and a jicama grapefruit salad. Bought a baguette and an olive loaf from Acme Breads in the Ferry Building to take home to the husband, who was giving out scholarships all day. Home before dark. Ya can't beat it!

Most recent issue of The New Yorker...From the graduation ceremony program of St. Helena High School, in California.

"The Senior Class kindly requests that, in keeping with the dignity of the ceremony, guests refrain from air horns, whistling, shouting, or appropriate behavior." And that's a little scary, too...no, the next to last word is not a typo.

Oh that sounds so wonderful...thanks for sharing...we've been in the doldrums here for the last couple of days, rainy and dreary...supposed to be lovely over the weekend though. One can always hope.

"appropriate"...reported in The New Yorker yet! Someone's face will be read for that one

Why.. will it be printed on their forehead?
Sorry, couldn't resist. You know, since this thread is about
inadvertent typos, and, well.. never mind. :)
