jdarg said:The teeny plastic baby is cute. Today's King Cake showed up because I found the baby from last year's cake- and it reminded me that the kids loved it, so i got one for a mid week cheerup. The cakes come decorated with beads, coins, sprinkles....I bought mine at a local bakery, or you can order them.
audie said:i may try to order one to take to sowal with us if our friends go - do you think it would travel well ?
jdarg said:When are you going? Soon? They are cute, but I don't think I would haul a stale King Cake all the way to SoWal! I don't know if you can get them after Mardi Gras.
audie said:it'll be too late by the time we go. and with everything else i haul to sowal, stale cake is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things !
Sueshore said:But you could use that hard, stale cake to throw at the kids running up and down the dunes!!!

Beach Crazy said:Hi Audie! I'm thinking it might freeze well. They are made with like cinnamon roll type dough. That kind of texture. The only thing is the icing colors might bleed a little but overall I bet it would do just fine. We use to order them from a bakery in NO but I don't know if it's still there or not......
