Solar Global Green: Gov. Charlie Crist weighs bill to help cities go green - Florida - MiamiHerald.com

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

``It's a no-mandate, no taxpayer subsidy that allows people to finance energy efficiency and other clean technologies, like solar, and save energy costs,'' said Rep. Adam Hasner, R-Delray Beach, the House majority leader who cosponsored the bill with Sen. Michael Bennett, R-Bradenton.``This is one of the most innovative public policy initiatives we've addressed in Florida for years for renewable energy. Local governments see this as a way for them to help residents and create jobs.''
The impetus began last year after Vrooman researched the PACE program in Berkeley, Calif. To date, 16 states operate PACE.

.
And here?s a case being made for the impact of energy effeciency. (not that it hasn?t been made before - we just don?t listen). Government building, equipment, transportation as well as corporate entities could lead the way:

Energy Efficiency: Twice the Impact of Renewables, Nuclear and Clean Coal. Combined.
"The International Energy Agency estimates that energy efficiency will deliver 65 per cent of worldwide carbon cuts in the energy sector by 2020, and 54 per cent by 2030. This means that in 2020 energy efficiency could have almost twice the impact of renewable energy, nuclear power and clean coal combined."
