Beach Fanatic
Surfrider Foundation had their bi-monthly beach clean up today at the park in Grayton. I must say despite Cigarettes butts it was the cleanest beach we have cleaned in two years! Congrats to the park and keep up the good work!

On a negative note, on the way to the beach Friday I passed a county truck full of beach crap and the driver threw their cig out the window as I passed it. :bang:

The irony... :(

I completely agree with your assessment. I live in BMB, 1/4 mile from two beach access points. Until last year, I enjoyed walking across the street to enjoy "our" beach. That changed with the privateers and their deputy dogs. Since then, those areas have been nothing but litter pens and debris. Very disappointing.

I now enjoy paying the $5.00 to enter the park meet happy people, clean beaches and what I use to enjoy in BMB.

The money that I spend is nothing compared to the quality of the experience.

I was driving on ole 98 today in Destin and saw the zoo that those beaches are experiencing. Fair warning to all in our beloved SoWal, if we don't change our attitudes and go back to the community mindset thinking about keeping our beaches clean we will soon see that zoo in person....:(

glad to hear you address this. grayton officials do a great job over there. ive met with them often and they truly care about those grounds. even when i was cleaning up after the 4th, i was pleasantly surprised. its been alot worse in the past. we all have to do our part and its up to us locals to do it. kudos bobby
