What's up with all of dead end streets and vacant lots in Gulf Trace? It looks like this place was developed decades ago but few lots have been developed.

You must be looking at Google Earth or something, as I know of no dead end streets in Gulf Trace. The Grayton Beach State Park is likely the property which you are seeing.

Never stayed there, but I love the fact that it has not been over developed its become 30A hidden jewel. I like a few vacant lots here and there.
Please don't let them start tearing down the houses and building 10,001 new 4 story ones so close they almost touch
:(

Yeah, what's with that area? Neat place, but it looks like only one or maybe two public beeach access points. The beach front houses all seem to have no beach access signs on them.

Friends have stayed there in the same place for many years. Neat community, some construction/renovation when we were through there a few weeks ago.

They are community, privately-owned access points, not to be mistaken with County public access points. Plus all roads leading into Gulf Trace are privately-owned, just not gated.

As for the other roads that look undeveloped behind Gulf Trace, that is now part of Grayton Beach State Recreational Area as SJ said. Strangely enough that publicly-owned state park area is gated. ;-)

thanks. Looks like kind of a neat place.
