According to this USA Today Article..

About half of teens ages 16 and 17 who have cellphones say they have talked on the phone while driving, and about a third of those teens have texted while behind the wheel
.

I guess the other half are liars...

LOL that is probably true about lying! I made up my mind the other day - come hell or high water I will NOT answer my phone or make a call or even pick up my phone to see who is calling while driving. PERIOD. I do not drink and drive so why should I put others and myself at risk on a stupid cell phone - something I lived without for years.

Thanks for the reminder to all about how dangerous it is to use these things while driving a vehicle!

G

PS I see people alllll the time going down 98 in rush time traffic TEXTING - grown ups at that! :nono1:

Talking on cell phones while driving is bad enough - texting is INSANE!

95% of the bad driving I see is done by someone on a cell phone - the rest either have a dog on their lap/out the window, have multiple people in the car distracting them (little kids or teenagers), or are drunk/impaired.

Yes, I do occasionally talk on the phone while driving, but most of the time I am one of the only drivers who ISN'T on the phone.

Good thing cell phones weren't popular back in the early eighties. You'd see drivers distracted by go-cup draft beer spillage in one hand, texting with the other hand, trying to shift gears, all legal.

:trainwreck:
