happy easter ....

Kate is a little stunner. Jdarg, your very first avatar was just precious. Glad you had a wonderful Easter visit. Happy Easter to all!

We are in SoWal with lots of family piled in with us and had a wonderful day. We went to the Easter service at Rosemary (thanks for the tip CCK) and the post-service egg hunt. It was a beautiful morning and the service was very appropriate for the setting. All the kids ate too much candy, crashed from their sugar high, and we got them up to go to the Red Bar very early so we could snag some of the remaining crab cakes. Saw the Conch Out on the way over. Went to the beach for sunset afterward. This is what Easter should be all about. :clap_1:

How about all the Easter 'tars? They have been so creative and funny!:clap_1: I have enjoyed jumping on the board and seeing the new ones.
No one liked my Joakim Noah one? Boo-hoo. :( My daughter did it in Flash as an Easter present for me.

hmmm..speaking of avatars too...those tulips look like the ones at Churchill Downs! I showed the Mers the Derby Issue of Louisville Magazine- and our mostly B-list celebrities that get their picture taken while wearing ridiculous hats and choking down mint juleps. It seems like it's more and more rap artists and people like Pamela Anderson and Tori Speling (both such powerhouses of talent), dontcha think?:idontno: I'm ready to get some really glamourous people back to the track!

Nice catch Jdarg! I love the tulips at Churchill Downs. We are gearing up for Derby and spring. They had the parkway blocked off for one of the races this weekend. I certainly do agree with you about the celebrities. When I was younger the Derby drew in big name celebrities. I used to love checking it out. Not so much anymore. It wounds like you had the best celebrities this weekend with the Mers. Hope you all had funn. Glad the weather was nice for their visit.

Happy Easter. Going to do a cleanup of 395, then drop the boat in the bay and head on up to seabar to see hubba hubba. i'm sure it will be a zoo.

jr

did all of the above. met jim and gina and hit 395 at around 10:30. did from suzanne lane up to watercolor, and then from lower forrest access road both north and south. i opted for the cigarette butts. so basically i was stooped over the entire time, until around 1:45. got a lot of garbage picked up around 15 big bags, and i filled up two grocery bags with just butts. i was quite demoralized by the time we called it quits. seems most smokers are of the opinion that throwing butts out the window is not littering, and that the butts are out of sight, out of mind. nasty. i guess they don't care what they're doing to their bodies, so it surely doesn't matter what they're doing to the planet. quite selfish in my estimation.
coolest thing is saw all day was this:

it was amazing to see the strength of a plant pushing aside asphalt to grow. perked me right up.

got home a little while later and dropped boat in the water and headed up to seabar for hubba hubba, paddling against an amazing headwind that kept pushing the boat in the direction it wanted, south. got there and saw mr SJ and a bunch of other sowal residents. HH had just taken a break as i pulled up, so got to visit a bunch. music resumed and got to listen to some before leaving almost too late for light. grabbed this on the way back:

Forget the Derby this year. Didn't you hear about Mayhem in SoWal?
