this is after the $300 lump we had removed last fall that was a lot larger under the skin than it appeared. mr audie 'bout had a heart attack when he came home from work and saw her whole side was shaved with a gaping wound held together by 19 staples - god that was a mess !

Awww....poor baby! :( I hope that's not what's going to happen to our Kobi. He goes in at the end of next week. I'll keep you posted. I have to admit that I freaked out a bit when I found the spot. I immediately assumed the worst but the vet doesn't seem all the concerned. SO I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It doesn't sound over the top to me at all. I will be so bold to say, not to SS(a.k.a. Miss Ktty) either. They are our children, just with extra legs and cold noses.

Another reason I heart you....I love this as well...and used it for Steven's senior yearbook on the page our first beloved sheltie, Missy, did for him. It had pics of them together throughout the years. I am misting up just thinking how cute it was.

Hey, I'm quite jealous...I don't know how you got off so cheap. My fur-kid has a skin tag on his side too and our estimate to remove it was more around the $250.00 mark. I think I might need a second opinion. I mean I knew my vet was a little pricey but gosh..... I am glad your baby is fine! What would we do without them? I know I wouldn't miss my hairy house but everything else I couldn't be without.

That is because it may require anesthesia to remove it. Depending on the location and size, a numbing shot might not do it. The cost is really in the anesthesia and monitoring.

you are sooo right - and the anesthesia she charged me out the behind for the first time around i could've got for $10 - actually that was the anesthesia and the antibiotic. oh well, no price is too large for my girl ! oh i just noticed i paid $25.09 for a 0.2 ml dose of lidocaine that would've cost me $2.00 at work - but at least she didn't do like my dr and charge me $92 - yes $92 to tell me i needed to lose weight. that was all he could find wrong with me at my checkup, and hell i already knew that ! :pissed:

yes please keep me posted on your baby ! and if he does get stitches or staples, the key is to coat it with neosporin - liberally. i had her almost healed completely closed by the time she went back in 10 days to get the staples popped out. neosporin rules !

It costs $45 to groom my toy poodle! I guess it's just the same across the board. I always thought it'd be a fortune if she were a sheepdog!

they charge more if she's tangled, but she is usually in pretty decent shape since all she does is sleep - like her mommy !

I was talking about general anesthesia. But even with the lidocaine, $85 doesn't sound too bad. Several people are involved in that procedure, not just your vet, plus the meds, and I'm sure an office call.

i totally agree. i had been wanting a dog for a while but the mr. wasn't a dog person (whatever  ) then my grandpa died and i had a really rough time with that being a papaw's girl and all, so the mr. decided to let me get my "dream dog" to cheer me up. and she was a godsend let me tell you. even if she does like him better. (bad dog!)

She probably knows he brings home all those 50 lbs. bags of dog food! :funn:Well, he talks about bringing it home anyway.

My 2 go nuts when they hear my husband pull into the garage. If he's been gone for a few days on business, he walks in lays down on the rug in the kitchen and tells them, "I looked everywhere for you 2! Where have you been?" We are dog fools in this house!!!!! :clap_1:
