Heads Up on HARD FREEZE Coming To A Beach Near YOU!

New posts
Hey thanks, Gidget. I haven't been as mindful of the weather with all the grandkids and extra pets running around my house. Will turn on some old Christmas lights on the few non-native potted plants on my back porch. The rest are on their own. Nice thing about palmettos, yupon, magnolia, oak and pine trees is they take whatever SoWal weather throws at them.

feels like 12 on monday....Daaaaaannng....

Good lord!!! Lows in the 20's????? Thanks for the heads up, Gidget.

Sowallers, PLEASE protect your pets. Bring them inside or make sure they are kept warm. They are living, breathing, feeling creatures and look to us for their welfare.

thank you sowal weather lady gidget!

thanks for looking out for the critters MissCritter!

My new kale and lettuce are coming inside right now - the rest have survived for years, so they can survive this freeze.

Accuweather's forecasted lows are a bit lower than Weather Underground, although Santa Rosa Beach, Florida (32459) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground these are still plenty cold. I'll be interested to see which one gets the closest.
Was 32.6 at my house early this morning.
I shut off and drained my outside shower in case it really does get down to 24. I remember one really cold winter years ago when showers all over town started spraying water once it thawed out.

we will probably see a lot of "winter wonderlands" as the bigger developments apparently leave their sprinkler systems on...last night about 11 p.m. coming in to the beach, we drove through two well known areas where the sprinklers were going full blast.

LOL I've learned since living here that no one seems to pay any attention to these sprinkler systems! :bang: What a waste of resources!!
