Peapod, our neighborhood was built in the 20s and 30s, too. I love all the wide mouldings and high ceilings of old houses. Though I have to say that I could do without the draftiness at this time of year. :( Ah well, the price of beauty.

My son just called from University of Southern Indiana, not far from the Illinois and Kentucky borders. He said there's an inch of snow already and it's still falling. We in Indianapolis are next!

five inches here......still falling steady!!!! the pick up at school is going to be a mess

I just glanced out the window and ours has started. You're right; school pick up IS going to be a mess! Tonight we have to go to a neighborhood board meeting and I'm glad it's only down the street. The first real snowfall of the year always throws everyone for a loop and people will be driving like morons, I know (sad but true).

And here's one from the East side of the Mississippi:

It's really pretty!

No sign of snow yet here in Ohio. They've already cancelled a PTA meeting that was at school tonight. I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow....we would all get to sleep in!!!

Wow, we've just been guesstimating from being outside, I hadn't heard the actual numbers yet! Woo-hoo, it's not my turn for school pickup for the big kids today, and I already picked up my preschooler. My 12-year-old is supposed to have his Christmas band concert at school tonight, though. Wonder if they'll cancel... :idontno:

I am with you SJ - after living in Wyoming and Illinois most of my life - the snow pictures look pretty - but I don't want to live it anymore - when I see a picture of the beach - however - I am always picturing myself on it.

No snow in N Suburbs of Chicago yet today - though we still have a couple of inches on the ground from last Saturday.
