here is our snow.........

Thanks. You can see the "whiteout" I was talking about pretty easily. Neither is of my house; it's my neighbors. My porch steps still have pots and pots of frozen marigolds on them. :lolabove:

Well, its official, the kids have a snow day tomorrow. I think the parents should have one too!
For real?! Wow, my kids' school hasn't shown up on the list yet. Then again, our district is really tiny--most of the students live within walking distance, there is no bus service because of it--so I bet we don't get a day off. :bang:

All our snow came with we were at a Christmas party at church. Had to drive home in it. At least it was the fluffy stuff and no ice thank goodness. I think we have about 3-4" on the ground. I hope there's more to come b/c the kids are really hoping for a snow day!

oooh I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know how to use the snow blower either.

Wow - there was a lot more snow than I thought there was - probably at least 6 inches. Snow shoveling ended up being my substitute workout for the day. I must have been out there for 90 minutes (but won't the hubby be surprised I didn't save it for him!)

Mermaid...thanks for sharing that beauty!!! I love that my Midwest friends are so excited over the white stuff! I thought it was just us southern types that went ga ga!! Then I realized that we are all people that love SoWal and the beauty it provides....and I was not so surprised anymore!!! Beauty is everywhere...just look!

Sueshore, that is the sweetest thing (and truest thing) I've read in a while. Yes, I think we all appreciate beauty...and so many people on this board have beautiful hearts to go with it.

Two hour delay for high school starting so Fyl and I made Belgian waffles for breakfast! Now that I am all carbed up, it's time to go out and finish the shoveling. Two hours of it last night and I'm still not done.

BTW, do any of you other parents have trouble getting your kids to bundle up? Fyl's campus is spread out and she to walk between buildings (big walks). She doesn't want to wear a coat because she says it won't fit in her locker. I said, how about wearing my down vest, and she looked at me with this look of horror that clearly said have you lost your mind, Mama? I didn't think she'd be like this at the ripe old age of 17! I thought she'd surely have some sense by then.

Yes, Mermaid...for some reason those kids just refuse to wear proper clothing in harsh weather! I think when they get to college that changes. It must have something to do with the "cool" factor! It used to make me crazy!

Mermaid, my son is 18, a senior in high school, and I cannot get him to wear a coat. I have finally just quit nagging him. . . another battle I will let him win. :bang:

A senior? You must be in the middle of doing the college search?
