Car-hopping is a major issue around here. Mainly teens looking for "trophies" or cigs or knives or guns or weed, but not always.

We are still amazed that somebody went into my son's friend's front yard, climbed into the back of our truck (only way it could have been reached), pulled Squirt's backpack out from under the toolbox. Upon discovering that he didn't leave his cell or his ipod in it, they then littered Bay Drive with half-a-year's worth of work and his books, and the next day (probably in fear of ShallowsFuzz) hung what was left on Woodie Long's mailbox. Somebody out there knows something, and someday it will get out. And we will be waiting.

This happened to me at my home last year (I live in Sandestin), and they trashed my car and took the stereo. We never found out who it was. The worst part is I'm still paranoid/suspicious of certain people I see walking around my neighborhood. I've got a strong feeling it's somebody I know.

The backpack thieves DID stop when they got down to the dirty gym clothes and socks...perhaps Yankee Candle needs to market that scent
