Beach Comber
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm a mom of 3 and married, coming down to Grayton Beach to camp for the 4th of July and wondering what is the best thing to do w/our kids for fireworks and activities. Will be near Seaside, wondering if that is our best bet so we can just ride our bikes. Any suggestions???? Thanks~ Jen

Last year I just walked out to the neighborhood beach walkover and had a front row seat to great fireworks - amateur up and down the beach and professional from the barge moored offshore at Seaside.

Grayton has a ton of amateur fireworks, but dunno if you want 3 small kids up close and personal for them.

I would NOT suggest riding a bike at night to get to the fireworks.

Biking all depends on the age of the "herd" you are bringing. I wouldn't suggest it with small children, but if we are talking tweens and up it shouldn't be too bad. Easier than driving IMO. Are you camping or staying at the Grayton cabins? That would be another big factor as the cabins add quite a bit of distance.

Since you are tent camping it shouldn't be a problem. Basically I would watch the Seaside fireworks and then turn 180 degrees and watch the drunken amateur show that will be going on at Grayton. You should be at a comfortable distance for that.
