Hello and thanks for reading,

I am STILL looking for a motivated and professionally personal individual to join as a server on a small staff of a bar on 30-A. I had several responses to this ad and interviewed many. I am still looking. The ideal applicant will:

1. Be open to learning a new style of service.

2. Understand the value of hard work and be willing to adapt to the changes involved with a young business

3. Be an eternal optimist and a skilled conversationalist.

4. Understand that certain qualities such as punctuality and accountability are essential in creating a healthy work environment.

5. Understand professionalism and what it means to conduct themselves in a manner that has a positive impact on their co-workers and customers.

6. Be able read situations and be able to anticipate customer and co-worker's needs.

7. Be ready to begin working in our establishment as soon as possible yet be ready to accept a diminished role until the season calls for more hours.

If you feel you fit this description, please call me for an interview at (850) 217-2585. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks Again

Has anyone even applied for this yet?

It sounds like they want a managerial caliber person to do seasonal work. I know these are tough times, but I had a hard time finding people who met all the criteria above to fill professional jobs with good salary and benefits. Sometimes we have to remember if we aren't supplying the perfect job, we may not find a perfect person to take it. Good luck to you, Soopaman.

I agree rapunzel. It could be that the type of server that is experienced in fine dining, with the wine knowledge might not be willing to accept a $4.19 + tip wage at this type of small establishment knowing that they can go somewhere that has a greater volume (therefore the promise of alot more $$$). Most servers of this caliber are very capable of earning $500.+ a week at a place with more seating capacity/table turnover. Unless the owner of the establishment is willing to offer a pretty high hourly wage, I think it will be hard for them to find a person willing to settle.

Whoops...missed the part of the post that 'many' folks were interviewed.

This might be a case of "If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards."

This is the killer: "Be ready to begin working in our establishment as soon as possible yet be ready to accept a diminished role until the season calls for more hours."

You may have to find someone who fits into item #7 & #4 and teach the others--or find a partner for the business willing to do the work who'll realize financial gain commensurate with the efforts he puts in.

What place is this, BTW?

This was the point I was making in the last post about this job. Offering a long list of demands yet offering no incentive for the person to want to work there. :idontno:
