The Historic Point Washington Association will hold a public meeting Sunday September 9, 2007 at 3pm at the old general store on Gilmore Road between Bay Elementary School and Eden State Gardens.

The meeting is free and open to all.

For more information call Randy Harelson at 585-3308 or Linny Delahoussaye at 225-0116.

Just curious, that must be very near the tiny p.o. Did thart get moved or is something being done to it? Anyone know anything?

It has not been moved. the house next to it is getting a major renovation. The old store is right across the street.

I'm glad nothing happened to it. It kinda reminds me of a field trip I went on as a kid to the oldest schoolhouse in St. Augustine. Just cuz it's cute and tiny, and old. Is it like the oldest p.o. in sowal or all of Florida, or just tiny?

The folks that bought and are restoring the Strickland house also own the post office building. Not that it will never be moved, but they are very aware of that little building's historical purpose to Point Washington. :D

And yes, the meeting will be right across the street.

I can't come to the meeting, and would really appreciate it if someone could post a summary of issues and updates. Thanks!
