Ho Ho Ho..are you ready for Christmas?

New posts
I am bored talking to myself...I have cleaned out and answered all my aol mail...so, I will start a new thread!!! Lucky you!

The Kitty fam had their Christmas on Sunday night! It was a wonderful and FUNN time! Highlights...Mizzou sweatshirt from MS, a copy of "The Sailor Dog", a Golden Book that sara82 and I LOVED on video when she was so young, and Mr. K gave sara82 and me a trip for a long weekend in Scottsdale in Feb. at a SPA!!! I'm telling you, that Mr. K is one terrific gift giver! The cute thing was when he told us it was because she would be leaving for grad school and he knew we would miss each other! sniff sniff
I love my family!

So, are you ready? Are you stressed? I hope not. It's so weird to have celebrated and still see all the ads competing for my business. I know I am preaching to the choir, but slow down just a bit and remember the reason for the season! I wish to all my SoWal pals...a blessed time with family and friends and hopes that each of you gets down to the beach of our dreams next year!

Raise your hand if you made it ALL the way through my rambling!

These are the only smilies raising a hand that I could find. Most of our board smilies are handicapped.

we did christmas with my hubby's family on sunday, my family really doesn't do anything too formal since i work every christmas. i gotta tell you it is a relief to be done with everything, now if i can just make it thru this week until monday, then i have a week off to eat and drink (lots).

A new and different Christmas for us this year. My older son is spending Christmas in Galway, Ireland, with a girl he swears is not his girlfriend.

Except for my computer and TV, and what I put in a backpack and suitcase on Oct 20, every blessed thing I own is in storage. No holiday CDs, no tree, no decorations. We haven't done a whole lot of shopping, which is fine.

I have done no holiday baking this year. None. That's not fine. But it is what it is, we knew it would be different this year.

On Saturday I will roast a turkey with a borrowed roaster, mash some potatoes with a fork, toss a caesar salad, and make cranberry sauce. I don't know if I will ever get used to cooking on an electric stove. I don't know that I want to.
We ordered pecan crusted sweet potatoes and Gruyere sourdough mushroom dressing from a little place called Provisions here, which is one of the best culinary things (other than the Mexican place, Pepper's) that ever happened to Port St Joe.

Me, me, me! You know it!
Thanks for the reminder, Miss Kitty. I think I need it about now. I was feeling so proud of myself before we left for SoWal because my goal was to have all my shopping done so I didn't have to come home from the trip and do anything major. But the problem was I came home to 4 kids already on Christmas break, so I have all these unwrapped gifts in my basement, waiting...waiting... I can hear them calling me, it's maddening! And I haven't bought anything for MP yet, though he says he wants the "Jackass" boxed set. And I haven't baked a single cookie yet, either, though I did buy all my ingredients yesterday...OK, I have to go meditate on the meaning for a minute.

:lolabove: --raising hand! I have a few things to buy but not really in a rush to buy them. It'll get done. I love having the kiddos home but wish I would have got the wrapping done. Oh well, there's not a ton and we can do it after they go to bed. I need to make a few more russian tea cakes as gifts but those are easy. We'll go to Christmas Eve service then to the inlaws, which is actually fuNNer than my family. (hardly dysfunctional at all) Then on Christmas Day we get up early, open presents, play with presents, eat breakfast casserole, get ready and go to my Dads. It will be a pretty stress-free time! Yea! Miss Kitty, I hope you and your fam have a wonderful Christmas too aboard the Love boat! I can't wait to her more ramblings....
