Holy Crap!

New posts
When I was about 15 & living at home, I was sitting in the family room (probably watching the Carol Burnett Show), all nice and relaxed and all of a sudden, I hear my mom's car slowly pull in the garage, then BA-BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!! She drove right through the wall, right into the family room where I was sitting! Talk about almost having a heart attack!!! It was pretty surreal! It was a brick wall, so there was a lot of damage to the car AND the house!! She walked in, walked right past me and never said a word. She was horribly embarrassed! I still laugh about it to this day.

OH my gosh!! JR you're lucky to be alive. Wow, some of these stories are making Papa's seem like nothing. Gttbm, you'll have to share them with him to make him feel better!

My daughter ran into a house on St. Simons Island when she was fifteen and totatled her friends's fathers collector "68 convertible Cutlass. Her story was that she was driving since the friend was "drinking"....duh....nevermind that my daughter didn't have a driver's license.....that was long time ago and not the worst thing that my daughter ever did.

She's now a mature adult with her master's degree teaching in Cobb County, so who knows????? Glad that we all lived through those days!

:lolabove:

I can also relate to the older parents' recent car issue....we are dealing with that now ourselves....LIFE!!!! :bang: :bang:

Johnrudy...."horribly embarrassed"!!!! That cracks me up (not as bad as your house and the car). What's the rest of the story....what was she aiming for when she missed?

My golf cart stories happened on the golf course with PawPaw. First time, was in CO, when PawPaw was playing golf and my mom let me drive the cart. PawPaw was standing in front of us and waves me on...I ran right into him! Poor PawPaw got up, dusted off his pants and finished the round. Second time was at our club in Houston. After tennis, a friend and I met up with PawPaw who let me drive the cart AGAIN! We were parked waiting to go on the back nine and she was playing with the gear. PawPaw once again waves us on and I floor it and we go BACKWARDS into another golf cart and a very large pine tree. Never did know how much that day cost! No wonder the poor man wore that hard hat when teaching me to drive!!!

Hey Sueshore, this is a first. I normally don't have time on the weekends to browse the posts, but I didn't know what I was missing. Some of these today are just too funny. Worked on remodeling jobs around the house and went to dinner with #2 son tonight. Waiting for my better half to get home and I thought I would see who's on the board. Surprise, surprise, it's everybody from the workweek. I will have to sign on more often on the weekends.

Well, I can laugh about it now. And I wasn't in any real danger. It wasn't as if she was flooring it. You just don't expect to have your mother's car plowing thru the wall when you hear her pull in the garage! Ha! I guess I'll probably never forget it. I sorta use that as a "measure of stupidity." If I do something I'm embarrassed about, I always think - - at least I haven't driven thru the wall of my family room!

KISH7374...kind of sad, isn't it? Some of us are here ALL the time! I actually had a busy day and then had to get all gussied up for a party we didn't really want to go to (business). Luckily, HMM was ready to go home early!!! So, now I will sign off....I am exhausted! Please post often and join in the funn!

Johnrudy...you are wise...there's always somethign worse that could have happened!

Speaking of Golf Carts, not too many years ago, a friend of mine was in charge of driving the beverage cart on a couse. Being her first day on the bev cart, she was a little confused about where to be when people were hitting the ball. (The bev cart goes against the flow to reach more people). She knew to stop the gasoline cart when someone was getting ready to hit, but when this one guy hit the ball straight at the cart (accident), she did not think about ducking behind the windscreen. She floored the cart when she pushed off the gas pedal while jumping off the cart. The golf ball missed her, but the cart went straight into the lake. PowerAde and beer were everywhere. I could not help but laugh when I heard the story.
