Hot Job in a Hot Spot!

New posts
Back in the day my step dad would reward his employees by keeping them employed.

I'm also betting that "back in the day" the children weren't "rewarded" with cash for bringing home "A's & B's" on report cards; given a car for their 16th birthday; or paid to do "required" chores around the house. Today's kids expect the carrot--kids "Back in the Day" expected the stick.

Dallas, the reason I dislike Dallas, let me count the way's. TRAFFIC, The RUDE People, and again TRAFFIC. I plan to return to SoWal in two years, yeah. Best place on the earth.

Poor Pinto..I think I can speak for Kitty too when I say that the traffic sucks. I hope you get to return to SoWal like you plan. But.....

Reasons I like Dallas......
1. MK lives there
2. It's so eclectic
3. They have cool concerts
4. It's far enough away that I don't have to deal with it every day.
5. I was born there
6. AA Center is pretty cool
7. Great restaurants
8. Dallas Blooms!
9. The State Fair (although I haven't been in a while, it's expensive and crowded--it's still the best.)
10. Don Henley:wub:

Not a fan of the Dallas high five?

:yikes:

Go puck yourself. :floor:...I'm sorry, just kidding, I jsut had to say that. I hate to hear you are so miserable. Wow, I hear ya' on the traffic, but after visiting Austin earlier this month and the things I hear about the ATL, it's just part and parcel of big city living. I hjope you find the good people that live here. I bet the ones you run into aren't natives.

Only when it's icy!

God love ya' DD. You can find something good in a pile of poop. Here's my list:

1. DD lives here.
2. Mr. Kitty's job is here.
3. The backyard for Molly.

I agree with all everyone is saying regarding children... and that's why i don't put mine in organized sports. We micromanage our children, kind of like we micromanage our workers. They don't play for the love of the game. They play to please us.

But at this time, with the imbalance (which is natural during a SEVERE recession) of pay to costs, it's plain rude to make comments about bad workers, as I said before, take your pick... there's plenty of people willing to take abuse and live with it to put food on the table.

Yeah, it would be nice if we could go back to the day when an employer could just provide employment. So common respect and humanity would be the next best thing.

I find it refreshing that an employer would post the expectations instead of the same old "you will have fun, make loads of $$" speech that I read so many times on here. So many people dont realize that they call it WORK for a reason (its not always fun) and that the amount of $$ you will make pretty much depends on the amount of work you do. I started a job at a hot spot around here about a month ago, had consistently high sales, made great tips, no complaints from customers, got along with other employees (either that or they put up a good front in order for me to cover their @$$3$) showed up for my shifts, even came in on days I was not scheduled to cover those that didnt feel the need to show up when they were on, only to be let go a few days ago because I "didnt fit the clique". (yep...exact words) Glad to see there are still places that value work ethic and performance over who kisses butt the best.

I hope you know that since you were fired bc of no fault of your own, you are entitled to unemployment benefits.
