Hot temperatures in Memphis

New posts
 I am glad I am not in parts of Texas and Oklahoma, imagine those girls playing that softball in that over 100 degree temps. Those Chinese and Japanese teams are not used to those temperatures. We officially hit 100 today. Whew!

like I said on another thread--I'm not complaining. Its hot here in Memphis, but its hot everywhere. One advantage--daughter's boyfriend came to visit this week, so we went to Graceland yesterday--the crowds were significantly less than I expected. Even Elvis fans can't take the heat! But heat or not --I love Memphis. I do wish we were in Sowal--but the move here this summer probably keeps us from going this year. sigh.....

i know i am in the minority, but lordy, bring on the cold and snow ! audie needs to cool off....

I'm with you Audie. I feel like your tar in this heat. I run from the house to the car and right back in. Even my pool feels like bath water, so I stay in the a/c. I prefer fall and spring. I figure in the winter if it's cold I'll put on a cute sweater. There's only so much you can take off in the summer; even then you're still hot and people tend to stare

I may be one of the rare few who say, bring on the heat. It is good for the soul. However, if I had to wear a suit and tie, I might be miserable. Thank God for Birkenstocks and shorts.

I know when I'm in Sowal I never mind the heat. Maybe it's the attire and the ocean breeze :D I do hate the panty hose thing in this heat.

Amen Brotha! Audie, I am in strong disagreeance with you regarding snow. ;-)

I love hot weather!! I love to feel the sun on my back, I love how I can sit outside at night and not have to wear a jacket, actually I don't mind sweating either. I can always get cool by going inside but in the winter it seems I can never get really warm. Next time you think about how hot it is- think back to that cold, windy, icy rain hitting you in the face that feels like little needles. Brrrrrrrrr

sorry folks, i'm just not convinced that being warm is the way to go..... i always gripe on vacation about it being too hot. when it gets over 60 it's hot in my book...
