Stinky Towel Syndrome:
If you've ever had "Stinky Towel Syndrome", use a cup or so of White Vinegar when you wash the load of laundry. Works wonders! Especially on colored towels or T-shirts, cotton dishtowels. Dont use fabric softener when you wash these loads, it tends to hold in the bacteria that you're trying to remove.
Also, remove that fabric softener dispenser and clean it out thoroughly with hot water. You might be surprised what you find in there for mildew if you dont leave your washer door open to allow airflow through.
Stinky Sink Garbage Disposal:
Its usually not whats inside the disposal, but rather the mildew that is on the underside of the rubber flaps. You'll want to use rubber gloves... and make sure anyone you've ticked off lately is not around to flip the disposal switch on ;-) use a wad of paper towels, reach in then push up on the rubber flaps and start wiping off that black stuff.
