How do boat brokers operate?

Is it a consignment type deal? Do they work with seller to set price and then mark it up? Is there a "standard" markup? Do they take offers to sellers or jsut work with numbers they have? :idontno:
 
I know with consignment cars there are usually two basic ways of the dealer selling.

1. The owner sets a reserve and the dealer takes anything over that amount.
or
2. The dealer gets a set percentage of the sell price.
