How do YOU Celebrate?

New posts
My family and friends tend to celebrate Valentine's Day as a holiday more about funny cards, red/pink food, tacky and hilarious underwear, and being goofy than romance and $$$ celebrations.

I LOVE this idea of a tacky Valentine!!! :lolabove:

Yummy food and chocolate are of course part of the holiday and the women still want flowers, but it's more about all the people you love - not just your lover.

Just learned the true meaning of this tonight! GREAT reminder!
Dinner and a movie yesterday with the hubby, since we won't get to see each other again till the end of the week. Sending friends goofy cards and brought pink and red cupcakes to work for my friends there. Wish we would celebrate love everyday.

My Bible study group tonight decided to make someone our "Valentine" each day this week. Take time to say...I love you for being you!

Cooking Mrs. Hawg Dinner:

Appetizer: Lobster w/Bloody Mary Granite

Entree: Rack of Lamb w/sides: Lemon Butter Green Beans and Garlic Smashed Potatoes

Desert: Chocolate Souffle w/White Chocolate-Grand Marnier Sauce

Wine: 2006 St. Michael Merlot

You may have won the prize! Wow....:bang: (hubby has never cooked me a special meal.....)

After one of the worst pucking days in the history of working, and sitting in pucking traffic for over an hour, I came home and poured me a big old vodka screwdriver. Mr. DD had gotten already boiled shrimp which was actually good, I made a quick salad and we ate as he very sweetly listened to me vent and ramble for about 45 minutes.

Sounds like TRUE LOVE! Nothing better than a hubby who listens to your terrible day....

This year we're splurging on calories at our favorite pizza place-a totally unromantic but delicious joint! we picked up some lovely chocolate with french gray salt on top for dessert-the two chocolates are almost as expensive as our dinner will be!! Cards but no gifts this year, we've both been busy at work and our weekends have been too full for shopping. Most years we do a small gift and some years we take a little trip for V day so nothing concrete for us.

Sounds absolutely perfect!

Hubby actually "made" me a card this year with pen and paper. The words are priceless and soooo much better than him finding one that someone else wrote! I have cherished my card all day. :D

Dinner with hubby after one heck of a crappy day of work. DD....is there something in the air? Thank heavens for loving spouses:)
