I have watched and followed this forum for the past few days in amazement. I ran for the District 5 seat full aware that I could lose and I did. Do I regret running - no I do not. I met many people, made new friends and for that I will always be greatful.
I will continue to attend the BCC meetings as I have for the past 5 years and I will speak out on the issues that I believe in.
It is time for everyone to move on.
We have a new Commissioner and her name is Cecilia Jones. She owns two homes in the Southern part of the county. She has a son and daughter-in law (and a new grandchild soon) that live here as well. She will surely have the interest of the southern part of Walton County in her mind on every issue that comes before her in the next four years.
We should support her ( I will and do) and give her the opportunity to serve us well.
We do not need teams to assure that happens - I will form no team - I will watch, listen and express my viewpoint when I feel it is warranted. This should not continue - it is hurtful to our counties best interest and most of all it is unwarranted.
I ask that those that supported my campaign to "get over it" - I lost.
I have accepted it and ask that you do as well.
I wish Cecilia the best in her new responsibility. Get to work and make us proud.
