What a wonderful idea! We have donated miles in the past. Actually they are HMM's miles, but we live in a community property state!!!
It was for me personally, I'd never ask, but when it's mission work, you have to be very creative in finding $$.

We've also donated Merman's miles to get our soldiers in Iraq home to visit their families. I think it's absolutely wonderful that the airlines allow that to be done, since they're otherwise so uptight about who uses what miles. :(

BR,
One of my volunteer jobs is locating funds for missionaries and/or mission work. I've never known anyone to have 3 million miles accumulated!! How fortunate you are! I have several people that are looking to fly to Senegal in the spring to help implement a much needed school. If you have miles you'd like to donate, please pm me. It would be put to good use and for a good cause!
No, no, no, no, no. Three million miler just means that's the Delta "club" he's in. We don't have that many miles available. We've used those miles for our yearly international trips and for flying back and forth to Boston every weekend when our daughter was so unhappy in that frozen tundra. And BTW we have donated miles to worthy causes on very many occasions.

Awwwww, well, thanks anyway. You can't blame a girl for trying!! I mean, the 3 million miles at least sounds impressive!!
But, if you change your mind...

Truly, I'll let my husband know of your charity needs. He gets an incredible number of requests because people know he flies to Asia at least once a month, and he accumulates a lot of FF miles. And they know we spend our spare time in SoWal, which is closer by car than driving to ATL and flying to PC.

That would be great. It is an honest request. And if your husband would like more information, naturally, I can supply all the details.
Thank you ~

So, on one trip to Rome, I started going crazy and began jogging up and down the aisles (yes, I know one couldn't do that post 9/11). The flight attendants were cool with it (my husband was a two-million miler at that time - they aren't gonna mess with him). While jogging down the aisle, I heard my name called, and someone said, "Hey, is that you?" It was a high school friend that I hadn't seen since, well, high school. I was so embarrassed. I've stopped jogging on international flights. Now I do needlepoint for cushions at our church. It is very relaxing.

Oh man, that is funny! (Though I bet a bit uncomfortable for you... what are the odds??) I have no idea how I would react to flying, but my uncle is extremely phobic. He has to medicate himself, and even then has been known to have a panic attack or simply pass out on his way to his flight. Sad part is, he married a native hawaiian and they live in Kauai. Not a good place to live when you have problems flying.

We're hoping to save up enough money to fly to Hawaii soon. All we would need would be plane tickets, but for a family of four that would be over $2000. One day though! I've committed myself to staying home with our children while they are at home, but when they are grown we should be more free (time-wise and financially) to travel more. I do wish we could do those things while our kids are little and so full of wonder, but I don't regret our sacrifices a bit. We'll get our turn. It will just be after "retirement".
