What's a "mother's helper?" I need one. :laughing1

Valium!

Lay off Momma Bush. :nono1: You might be a little crazy too if you had spent that many years with those men. :bang:

Mother (Barbara) Bush is the one who said that the hurricane "refugees" all wanted to stay in TX because "they like our hospitality." This in a speech to a civic group in Houston. Same speech, she opined as how many of those displaced by the storm were actually very fortunate because their lives had not been all that good in NOLA before the storm and they were now in a better situation. This in a UP article yesterday; no comment from the White House.

Well, Babs is in her 80s now and probably shouldn't be asked for serious commentary either by reporters or those paying big bucks for speakers. Poor dear makes all these terribly tragic people sound like they're being entertained at a BBQ at Southfork. So...if you're poor and unable to outrun a catastrophic hurricane and subsequent flood, you're probably much happier and better off living with an Army cot, Salvation Army clothing, and K-Rats in the Houston Astrodome, separated from family and home and everything else you ever held dear in this life? Gee, did you really count at all, in the first place? Give me a break.

Not about race, not about politics, all about a little sensitivity for the human condition.

I missed that one! and I like Babs, and all of the Bush women as far as I know (just not overly fond of their numbskulls, I mean husbands - sorry, we all have our preferences and such). I'm really surprised, and sorry, to hear of it. :(
