Hwy 98 is not a used car lot

Note to the owners of the two vehicles for sale, parked at the intersection of hwy 98/Bay Drive -- it is illegal to park vehicles for sale along hwy 98, which is a designated Scenic Corridor. You now have lovely, big orange stickers with incredible glue, stuck to your windshields. I bet it will take some razor blades and 91% rubbing alcohol to remove the stickers. You might consider checking the laws and moving them to another location, where it is not illegal to park your car. With some of the connector roads to 30A and 30A itself now being designated Scenic highways, you might also check those rules. To my knowledge, Bay Dr is not on that list. ;-)

SJ if they don't get to see this post they will soon be moving their cars or having them moved. Aren't those usually the move it or lose it tags from the DOT?

They are move it or lose it, but I believe Code Enforcement or Sheriff's Office is in charge of sticking them on the glass. They place them on the front windshield, blocking the view for the driver, which is going to be a huge liability issue if the driver tries to move the car as told and gets in a wreck. I guess they don't know much about risk management.

Sorry, don't know where I got DOT. I believe they are generally used for broken down/DUI cars. Kind of makes a statement on the windshield over the drivers side. Should they tuck a cutesy feel good poem under the windshield wiper?

Sorry for the sarcasm, been PMed all night by trolls.

Yes, it does make a statement when the sticker is placed over the field of vision of the driver. It also makes the auto driving with impaired vision when he or she moves the vehicle. If that person gets in a wreck and kills someone, the winner will not be law enforcement.

In most DUI case the cars is towed anyway. And I believe they do just stick a note under the windshield if a car is broken down. I was told by the sheriffs dept. to that if you do break down on the side of the road to leave a note saying your car is disabled and a valid phone # and you will not be towed etc. I noticed that one of them was moved not too long after the stickers were put on but one has just moved a short way down Bay Dr.to where the cops usually sit and chat. That person will probably get towed just for parking it in their way.

I have watched this drama unfold daily. The cops seem to enjoy obscuring the 'for sale' sign inside the windshield with those stickers. Now, crafty sellers are posting multiple 'for sale' signs inside the vehicle thereby making it impossible for the police to cover them. Too funny.
