Beautiful sentiments OM--hey! you just pushed me over the edge on something that I want to do now or asap--make my Sowal space and profile as factual revealing as my Facebook profile.
Some may find comfort in (or hide behind) silly avatars and cute names, but for 2009 I am ready to lay it all out baby--anyone care to get psychologically naked with me and follow suit?
When I can get it I am going to us a permanent avatar using, how radical, using my real face. I am going to ask our wonderful webmaster if I can have a space between the "h" and my last name "nooe." More will follow.......

No, as far as I know it isn't. But, let's be real here. There are over 500K members. There is a political forum that can get hot and heavy. If you are a business person in Sowal selling goods, I can see it. But, a regular poster with opinions, I would recommend against it. Personally, if I knew the real names of some of the posters on this board, I would pull their hair if I saw them.

I'm one of the odd birds who uses my real picture on here from time to time. There have been several instances of people looking at me in Sowal with that "why does this guy look familiar?" face. It can be pretty funny, and I have met several of you this way. A lot of you know my real name, but for the purposes of a public board, I'll stick to Singinchicken.

I have to say that I have enjoyed the photos my friends have posted. I also understand the parent - teen thing. Whatever your reason for fbing, go for it! I must have issues, I still get anxiety attacks when I log on.

When I signed up on SoWal all those years ago....;-) I used my real name. I had no clue. I don't have any regrets...yet.
I have connected with a lot of people from my past on FB. I use it for a much different reason than I do SoWal. Two different babies. Last night I chatted with Jenay for a few minutes, then Jfunn.....we played poker together. It was funn. Blocking all the applications, which I have to tell you some are annoying, makes it easier to use.

hey Hnooe - believe me we already know who you are. in fact, no one is really annonymous on sowal because its a community public forum where you eventually meet many, PM with others, get to know people personally, and those you don't know share info about those they do know, etc. RELAX! (or BEWARE!) WE ALREADY KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! Geo uses his pic and its darling. I love seeing his face. go for it. I wouldn't put my contact info out there on any board or site except perhaps an email address - just common sense. Because this is a community board with mostly community-oriented people from Sowal and all over, most of us have the town/place Sowal in common, I have never known of an instance where a member stalked another, though there have been personality conflicts for sure. I am not saying it won't happen, it can happen anywhere in any community. But, that isn't the kind of place we have going here. It is really a community where we know each other - and we know many personally. those you feel you don't want to know - its just common sense to veer away from them, as you would in real life. some sowallers feel more protective of their identities and I totally respect that (though they must understand that if they know anyone here personally then their identity and personal info is probably not a secret). if a person wants to remain truly annonymous then this board isn't for them.
your board name really isn't an issue, in other words it doesn't matter what you decide to use - you know we'll probably create our own nickname for you anyway.
you've always been pretty open here, and imo, you are doing just fine.
