Obama Nominated For Emmy Award
WASHINGTON – Just days after making his yearly speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Barack Obama has been nominated for television’s highest honor, the “Emmy®” Award.
The Emmy, which recognizes excellence across many categories within the broadcast television industry, is the equivalent of Hollywood’s Academy Award, or “Oscar®”, and has rarely – if ever – been awarded to a politician, although many politically-themed shows have received the award, including The West Wing, The Newsroom, and VEEP.
