I had my wisdom teeth taken out when I was 20 -and had a blast!

Let me explain.

They gave me the gas, (Nitrous Oxide) before surgery and I decided that I would inhale as deeply as I could just so see what happens........I was flying by the time surgery rolled around. They had to stop the surgery a number of times due to my uncontrollable laughing fits.

Well, they also shoot you up with Novocane to numb your jaw, but at one point it started to wear off and I could feel every bit of the surgery -and it hurt. But here's the crazy part - I was so high on laughing gas that I remember thinking "Wow, this really hurts and I should ask for more Novocane but it's really just to much trouble. So I'll just sit here. Ow."

Interesting story about my experience with getting my wisdom teeth taken out. They gave me sodium penathol (sp) as well as the gas. When I woke up I was crying uncontrollably. I had no clue why. I wasn't in pain and I couldn't figure out why I was crying. I asked the doctor why. She told me that most woman who get sodium penathol wake up crying for no reason, and most men wake up laughing for no reason. It was just so strange to be crying and not know why!!!

Uncle Timmy...that's a wussy story. I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed with only novocain. I ate steak tht night. I played tennis the next day. ...btw, it was not by choice. My "best" friend was the surgeon's assistant.

That was probably less painful than trying to numb you with an abcess. Glad you survived. Ahh the good old days in the dental office...can't say I really miss working there but I do miss the patients.
