Beach Comber
I see this guy walking daily at about the same place across from Sugar Beach Interiors. Has anyone else seen him or have any info on him. I'm sure he's harmless, but, curious minds are wondering.

Every time I drive to Destin I see him. My friend was in the Tom Thumb at Holiday Rd. one day and saw him in there. She said she'd never seen shoes so worn out. At first I thought he walked to and from work somewhere but he's out there at all times of the day. I'm so worried someone is going to hit him. He walks very close to the traffic. : (

Have been wondering the same thing myself. I live at Ariel Dunes and thought he was just walking to the store or work, till i started seeing him no mater the time of day I was out. My next theory was he was collecting cans for recycling, but the small plastic bag he always has never seems to change in size.

Note: he does walk in the bike(?) lane that separates the turn lane from the hwy in font of US Gold and the gas station on 98 and Holiday..also takes the bike lane on the turnoff from 98 to Seascape. I always look for him there now when I am turning. He is very had to see at twilight. Make sure to look twice when turning off of 98.

Does anyone have any ideas on a way to help him?
What a great opportunity for a community to help a neighbor.

I know people who have tried to give him a bike, helmet, clothes, shoes and money. He won't take anything.

He stops at tomb thumb and buys water a few times a day and won't take money there either.

Today I passed by at least 2 piles of shoe boxes and clothing. He was stopped and was staring at one pile of a I drove by. Hopefully he took something from the piles today.
