We invite you, your staff, and chamber members, to attend an introductory forum on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's new Coastal Wildlife Conservation Initiative. The forum, targeting partners in Walton, Bay, Gulf and Franklin Counties, is taking place Tuesday, June 21, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 22, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00, at the Holiday Inn Select<http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/sl/1/en/hotel/pfnml>, Panama City.

With the CWCI, we aim to build a partnership network - a coalition - to work together on issues related to the conservation of wildlife and natural areas in the coastal zone, in balance with the needs of our communities, residents, and visitors.

Our beaches and coastal areas are vitally important to both the socio-economic well-being of the state as well as the many species of wildlife dependent upon them. The mission of the CWCI is to improve upon our coordination - locally, regionally and statewide - to better protect wildlife and manage their habitats in coastal areas.

Participation by and input from potential partners and stakeholders is a very important part of making such a large initiative a success. Our meeting objectives are to give an introduction to the CWCI and then provide participants with an opportunity to discuss issues of concern or gaps seen and strategies to address them.

We look forward to the possibility of working with you. So that we may plan for space and refreshments, if you plan to attend, please register<http://myfwc.com/conservation/special-initiatives/cwci/register/>.

If you have any questions about the CWCI or the forum, please feel free to call me.
