iPhone 3GS or 4?

I am upgrading to an iPhone. This will be my first adventure in smartphone land. I can get the 3GS for $99 or the 4 for $199. Is the newer 4 worth the extra $100?

Apple's comparison chart says the 4 model has a 5mp camera with a flash - which sounds appealing to me since I take a lot of pics and like having some sort of camera handy. 3GS camera is only 1.5 mp.

AT&T rep tells me the reception kinks in the 4 have been worked out. True?

I would really appreciate opinions from you iFolk on the board!

The iPhone 4 is light years better then the 3GS. Definitly get the new one,l. The screen quality alone is worth the price!

I agree! I have the 3GS & my friend has the 4. The flash alone on the 4 would make it worth it to me (especially since it sounds like you plan on using it frequently)

The iphone 4 is well worth the extra $100 dollars just for the camera alone, not to mention the screen, flash, etc.!!! Get the 4!!

I love my 3GS, but newer technology is usually the better way to go if budget allows.

Thanks to you all for the input. I got the 4, and it is very crisp and shiney indeed.

Now I have to learn how to use it. Fortunately, I have teenagers who can show me the way.
