Is anybody making any money around here?

Your voice makes a difference

While finger-surfing the net looking for work and trying to stay afloat in pair-o-dice, I kept running across google money-making ads. I thought, "Well, they are supposedly reputable", so I tried repeatedly to contact them to apply for one of these jobs. When no communication was returned, I emailed them and accused them of being the proprietors of the "google money" schemes. I thought, "How many other moms are trying to do what they can to raise their children and getting scammed in the process?" So, when I ran across this article, I was ecstatic!
Official Google Blog: Fighting fraud online: taking "Google Money" scammers to court
Dude, don't mess with a mom trying to feed her children!
Now, back to the subject at hand-
Where's the beef...

Well you're all in luck. The new extension of NWFSC is almost complete. Throw off those shackles of servitude to the man and strive to do better. I to was stuck in the service industry rut for years and got out. My current job affords me a flexible schedule and weekends and holidays off. In fact I plan on going to the extension to continue my education.

The whiners abound and can't seem to get it that complaining won't change their situation. If you are unhappy, below water, and can't find a job you enjoy then unfortunately you might just have to move. That's called life. It's no different than someone in Atlanta biatching and moaning that there's no Gulf or Ocean on the city limits and by god there not moving because they grew up there, have family, own a home, or can't afford it.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but after reading 25+ posts of whining it gets to you.

To the person who is complaining because they can't find an Executive Assistant position that pays more than $9hr, have you considered that ultimately other cities have a higher pay rate due to cost of living, taxes, and other factors?

Guess what though, it's pretty bad all over for hospitality workers, it's not just a local phenomenon.

After being here for almost 30 years, raising 4 kids here, paying taxes here, working here, spending every dime I have had in the last 30 years here and putting my heart and soul into this county, I have earned my whining rights, don't read it if you don't like it but don't tell me not to do it. Free speech is alive and well last I heard.

Good question 30A have cocktail and shop- I like you

I am going to answer what would be my dream on 30A. A dream job is not my first dream - to take care of my children is my dream and reality. I'm living it. But, I love your question cause it leads to a solution. The reason I started this thread was for not only me, but for others to find work or work out some type of solution concerning their income. My life would be too tough to handle for most, but it's my life and I sure look good. I should look like hell after what I've been through, but I drop all my worries at the Jesus spa. He's my best friend. Thank you Jesus.

I'm so impressed with your question that it should be the beginning of a new thread.

It would be cool if we could graph all the threads in colors to see the outcome of the quilt so to speak. Red-emphatic,blue-easy going,yellow-happy,orange-energetic,purple-esoteric,green-conservationists,black-the dark side,white-the truth

DREAM JOB- To have my own shop again and be in an area where merchants gain from the others presence instead of competing like piranhas. When people speak bad of others to gain business it makes the person speaking look bad-unless of course the person their speaking of is a crooked-azz and should be exposed.

I love just about everything in retail, but specialize in clothing,jewelry,accessories,shoes,make-up, and design
I do not have a degree by man, but was born with it
Gosh, I'm good- I love beauty
Don't love to shop per se, but shop to bring beauty and relaxation to our lives.

Thanks for asking-you're a treasure

I am self-employed, I live with my father(I'm 32) and make enough to pay my bills. My dad though is out of work(just had a heart attack and had to be flown to FWBMC-that was a bill YIKES), he works seasonally and is trying to get a job in LA on one of the boats that supplies the oil rigs. So I'm trying to find more jobs so I can pay the bills for my dad, the regular bills mortgage, utilities, lot. It's hard and I'm am extremely blessed to work for good people who recommend me to others. But for awhile there it was extremely scary, and sometimes still is.

Hey Sara rained on her parade

Gotcha - understand. I made 32.64 this week and my bank account is under 2 dollars. Scary - understand. I can breathe, see, walk, talk, eat, and we have a gorgeous house with heat, t.v., computer, and privacy. My kids are fed, healthy, and happy. Do I like my situation financially - hell no, but continue to look for solutions instead of complaining. This has been going on for 5 years, but we have never missed a meal and the food has been good. I didn't choose to live in survival mode, but being a single mom forced it on me and the economy is not accommodating at this time. I have run across the biggest azzes in this area and some of the kindest. Both parties have been prayed for. To access files go to prayers.com (kidding, oops thats an actual site, don't get lost). Anyway, left her cake out in the rain, for what its worth, its either perseverance or death. While you're persevering you can hate or love. This is how I live my life. I persevere to love. I try to look forward to each minute, knowing that every moment I live I can decide to make it exciting or boring - its up to me. Every beautiful thing in life is what I look forward to everyday. Every obstacle is a blessing in disguise cause I can overcome if I choose to or I can throw in the towel. I am a tigress in the meanest sense in that I am a fighter, but I choose my battles. I pray about everything and seek guidance from the one who knows, God. From what I understand I've been promised health, prosperity, and a relationship with Him. So I fight within those bounds and for the things He puts on my heart. Day by day, I have to trust Him because if I do not have a job that day, He comes through anyway. If I have a job for several years, but it does'nt stretch to pay all my bills, He comes through for me. If I have more than enough during the good times, He makes sure I find places or things or people that really make me happy. In other words, fat times or lean, He lets me know He's there in personal ways.
Just lettin ya know you're not alone

View from the Snow Belt

The airport will probably change things but it'll be a different place. Interesting to wait and see. I miss the sunshine..... total Seasonal Affective Disorder going on here... maybe I need to get one of those lamps. HARD adjusting to GA.... very grey. I've tried this moving thing away before and it just doesn't work... Landlocked. Maybe I can find a new paradise somewhere.

I live in the snow belt so adjusting to GA actually sounds pretty good.
